About Rollingwoods Farm

Rollingwoods Farm is a premier Welsh Pony breeding operation owned and operated by three sisters whose shared passion has shaped one of the most respected programs in the country. What began as the dream of Dr. Ruth Wilburn, to produce a beautiful pony with athletic ability and a good mind, quickly became a family endeavor. Soon joined by her sisters, Joanna Wilburn and Sally Ross Davis, Rollingwoods Farm was born—and over time, the trio turned a single vision into a thriving, nationally recognized breeding program.
Specializing in both Section B Welsh Ponies and Half-Welsh/Part-Bred Welsh ponies, the sisters have spent decades pouring hard work, laughter, and determination into their mission. The best way to sum it up is to say “One sister had a dream, two sisters got sucked in, and now three sisters are having a great time!” Their success speaks for itself—Rollingwoods ponies have not only competed, but won at some of the most prestigious shows in the country, including the Washington International Horse Show and USEF Pony Finals.
In addition to breeding, the Wilburn sisters actively compete at WPCSA shows, bringing along a team of riders and drivers of all ages. Located in Olive Branch, Mississippi, just 30 minutes from Memphis International Airport, the farm is conveniently situated for clients across the United States.
Known for producing ponies with exceptional minds, quality, and versatility, Rollingwoods ponies are as intelligent and kind as they are competitive. Whether you're searching for your next show-ring champion or a reliable all-around partner, a Rollingwoods pony is bred to stand out—in any company, in any ring.

Why a
Rollingwoods Pony?

Since 1983, we've had a lot of fun and made lasting memories breeding ponies. Our achievements include the WPCSA Breeder’s Order of the Dragon, multiple years as leading USEF Welsh breeder, and the USEF Ellen Scripps Davis Memorial Breeder’s Cup. Over 35 WPCSA lifetime awards have been earned by Rollingwoods ponies. Our ponies have also found success at Pony Finals, Devon, Washington International, Capital Challenge, and in dressage and driving. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished—and excited for what’s next.
The Wilburn Sisters

Ruth Wilburn
Ruth is the heart of Rollingwoods Farm and the reason we are where we are today. A tireless worker, she built both Olive Branch Animal Clinic and Rollingwoods Farm, shaping her vision of the ideal pony through years of study and dedication—especially under the guidance of Gail Thompson. Ruth has become a respected expert in Welsh bloodlines and continues to refine her breeding program with unmatched passion. In addition to her work as a veterinarian and breeder, she serves as President of the WPCSA and is a decorated carriage driver. Ruth also raises Jack Russell Terriers and is always generous with her time, knowledge, and stories. Simply put, if you listen to Ruth, you’ll learn a lot. We’re proud to work beside her and are endlessly grateful for all she does.

Joanna Wilburn
Joanna, affectionately known to the children as “Jojo,” is the steady force behind our team. She keeps things organized, handles early chores, and supports everyone—whether reading schedules, tracking down lost items, or helping riders before they enter the ring. She starts all of our driving ponies and is a skilled trainer, helping drivers at every level improve. Joanna also travels the country as a clinician, sharing her knowledge and experience. Her work keeps the farm and show team running, and we’re lucky to have her.

Sally Ross Davis
Sally Ross Davis is the ultimate team player—trainer, braider, and caretaker of both ponies and kids. She’s up before dawn braiding, then spends the day getting riders in and out of the ring, always with a smile and a kind word. She also handles all of our sales and is constantly working a deal, matching ponies with the right homes. Her goal is simple: make showing fun and positive for everyone. She welcomes all who want to be part of the team and has a gift for making every rider feel included.
